What is the best way to avoid burnout?
Now, there are definitely some benefits when you understand how to avoid burnout. You're going to avoid feeling overwhelmed. You're going to have more energy, and you're going to maintain daily motivation. There are some problems that will arise if you don't understand how to avoid burnout. You're going to avoid self-care. You're probably going to fall off track and get really frustrated, and things can get even worse. You might start stress eating, completely losing motivation, and then just lacking energy and endurance to get through your day.
One of my clients, he had a lot on his plate. He would tell me all the time that he was completely overwhelmed and just didn't have enough time to do the things that he wanted, and he was feeling completely burnt out. He owned his own business, and he just completely lost motivation to go to work every day. He was just like a zombie going to each of his jobs, and he wasn't being his best self and he knew it. He stopped taking care of himself. He actually canceled his personal training sessions with me. He stopped training with me for about a few months. He ended up gaining about 10 pounds in less than a month and he was totally frustrated. He lost sight of his goals, and he just stopped caring because he was totally burnt out.

So when you take a good look at your life, you might have a lot of roles on your plate that are just too much. Maybe there's too much that you have responsibility for, and some of those things you have to say no to. Because when you take on too much, it's really hard to focus on the things that matter most to you. If you can't take care of yourself, you can't be a good wife, husband, father, friend to those people that are important in your life. If you avoid self-care, you're going to avoid also being present for those people that matter the most to you.
